An impressive function was got up in Bangalore on Sunday, the 04th February 2001 to mark the completion of our first year of operations.

The programme was attended by over 500 distinguished guests and invitees including the Chief Minister of Karnataka ( who presided over the function), Dr Len Good, the president of CIDA (who was the Chief Guest), Mr George Saibel, Director General, Asia Branch at CIDA, officials of the High Commission for Canada in India, DID representative, Mrs Rohini Nilekani (benefactor donor to our Urban project ), Government officials, chiefs and members of partner NGOs and voluntary organisations, select groups of self help affinity groups assisted by us, Members of our Board and that of our parent Organisation, MYRADA, and a large number of representatives from print and visual media. The gathering was appropriately addressed by the Chief Minister, the Chief guest, our Vice Chairman Mr Ramesh Ramanathan and Mrs Nilekani – the last of whom also released a book titled “ putting Institutions First – even in Micro Finance, authored by Padmashree Aloysius Fernandez, our Founder Chairperson.

We are extremely happy to share that our company was adjudged National winner in the “Fire” category of the Microfinance Excellence Award for the year 2008 instituted by Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Plan-Net Finance in recognition of our work done in speedy credit delivery system by enhancing the efficiency and reducing the various kinds of risks associated therewith.
